2026 Great Britain Silver Britannia – King Charles III – sealed British Mint box of 500 one oz coins
Available since 1997, the British Britannia is a sovereign coin backed by the British Government. These gorgeous coins each contain one oz of pure silver. They are known worldwide for their instant recognizability, enhanced security features and their exceptional beauty. They’re NICE!
In 2023, the Mint initially issued coins with Queen Elizabeth, but after her passing, they issued a second run of 2023 coins featuring newly crowned King Charles III. The 2024 coins continue to depict King Charles. The obverse has a left facing effigy of King Charles III, the inscription “CHARLES III D • G • REX • F • D”, a shortened version of the Latin “King Charles III, by the Grace of God, Defender of the Faith”. The obverse also shows the nominal face value of 2 POUNDS.
The reverse featuring artwork from Philip Nathan, features Britannia, the internationally recognized figure representing Great Britain, as she stands firm against a powerful wind. The visage of Britannia has been used on British coinage since Roman times as a symbol of Britain’s strength and integrity. The reverse also includes added security features: a latent image, surface animation, tincture lines and micro text.
Silver Britannia come in mint-sealed monster boxes of 500 coins, each containing one oz of .999 fine silver. Inside the box are twenty (20) tubes of twenty five (25) coins each.
