What a wild ride. Metals continue the recent trend of extreme volatility the likes of which we haven’t witnessed in years. With all of the current global (and domestic) uncertainty, silver, gold, platinum and palladium continue to be the safe haven of choice for many investors. Physical metal in one’s hands gives one a sense of security like no other. No matter which direction we head, having tangible assets in your safe (or vault or buried in the yard) always means a better night’s sleep.
We have some very tempting end-of-the-quarter silver specials today – Silver Eagles, the new America the Beautiful coins, bags of 90% silver halves and some beautiful BU 1964 JFK halves that we’re selling WAY below market. And, as always, we offer a tremendous selection of cherry-picked certified coins that we’re offering at a fraction of price guide.
Certified coin specials:
This week’s hand picked numismatic gems include a peerless 1947 Walking Liberty Half, an exceptional 1914-S $5 Gold Indian, a spectacular 100 year old 1919 Buffalo Nickel and a very rare 1889 Gold Dollar in MS68!
Palladium $1,687 – UP 98% in 13 months (and 21% in the past 8 weeks!)
Thanks for reading. We sincerely appreciate it. Wishing you and yours a great weekend!
CERTIFIED COIN SPECIALS
We’ve been too busy to even put together a newsletter the past several weeks, so it was fun to find the time to sift through over 2,000 rare coins this week. Below, you’ll find my four favorites – all cherry picked coins that are chosen for both their exceptional eye appeal and our ability to price them well below price guide for you. Enjoy!
1947 WALKING LIBERTY HALF DOLLAR – NGC certified MS67
Oh… that’s a beauty! With tons of original luster and a slight tinge of green toning on the reverse, this final-year-of-issue “Walker” really caught my eye. And what a price!
NGC census is only 68, with none graded higher – a peerless Walker.
The 1914-S “half eagle”, in its top grade, is a VERY expensive coin. The MS64 lists at $70,000 and the top grade known, MS65, comes in at $165,000. For most collectors, the MS61 is a much more reasonable option and this one is about as good as it gets. Very pretty coin (look at how strong the profile is on the obverse).
I’m not exaggerating when I say that when I saw this final-year-of-issue DDR (double die reverse) Gold Dollar, I involuntarily said WOW! The word “frosty” was my next utterance. LOL. Absolutely stunning
We just picked up half a dozen bags of 90% silver half dollars. We haven’t had time to look at them at all, other than throwing them in the counter and weighing them. We don’t have time to sort them out, so we’re unloading them cheap. Coins will be our choice of design (Walking Liberty, Franklin, 1964 JFK) – they may be all the same, they may be mixed. Like I said, we haven’t looked them over.
