Greetings from smoky California, where we haven’t seen the sun for a week! I’ll tell you, it is bad out here! Praying for rain. Let me take a moment to say how grateful and proud we are of our brave firefighters and first responders (both local and folks coming from other states to help). These women and men are true heroes. I’d also like to express my extreme gratitude to all of you who have called and emailed to check on us. We are well out of the fire zone (for now, anyway!), but the smoke is covering much of the state. Schools and businesses are closing due to dangerous air quality, San Francisco has ceased running cable cars. It’s scary!
On to happier things…
While gold and silver continue struggling to sustain a rally, every time gold drops to around $1,200, it rallies right back. Likewise with silver and the $14.00 mark. These bottoms are holding very strongly. That may well indicate that this is still a great time to buy at or near the bottom of the market.
Then, there’s my buddy, Mr. Palladium. With all of the volatility of gold, silver and platinum lately, PALLADIUM continues to skyrocket, now up 38% since August 15th. Thirty-eight percent! Time to buy some palladium (we now have a rock SOLID supplier for Canadian one oz Maples)!
This week, we also have hot deals for you on Walking Liberty and Franklin halves. We’ve also uncovered a nice little horde of $2.50 Gold Indians that we’re selling at a very attractive price and around 100 x 2018 Platinum Eagles that we’re below market on.
Certified coin specials:
This week’s cherry picked gems include a stunning 1916-D Barber quarter in MS67*, a magnificent 1955 Lincoln “wheat back” Penny and a $500 reduction on a great coin we didn’t sell last week.
Thank you so much for reading! We sincerely appreciate it!
Wishing you and yours a great weekend! Stay safe!
$2.50 Gold Indians are among our very favorite pre-1933 coins. Beautiful design! We just uncovered a nice horde of the little beauties and we’re selling lots of ten coins for $100 belowour website prices.

1916-D BARBER QUARTER – NGC certified MS67* (star)
That Barber quarter we featured last week… wish we’d have had three of them to sell! Oh well, we just had the one. But – we have found another date just as rare. How rare? NGC has only ever graded 14 of these in MS67 and only has ever been graded higher. It. Is. RARE!
Please notice that the grade is MS67* (star).
Per NGC, “…some coins of a particular grade are far more attractive than others of the same grade. NGC defines its star (*) designated coins as those that have exceptional eye appeal.”
NGC price guide is $4,750 on this final-year Barber Quarter.
Your price: only $3,500. You save $1,250
Exact coin pictured – first come, first served
Not using this as a selling point, per se, just wanted to note that this coin also features a very cool label, honoring the “Red Book” (the Whitman guide book to US coins) hand signed by Kenneth Bressett, Editor of the Red Book.
On rare occasions, we fail to sell one of our certified specials.
In this case, we went back to our consignor and asked if they’d be willing to drop their price a bit on this exceptional coin.
1952-S WASHINGTON-CARVER .50¢ – NGC certified MS67
One of our most consistently popular eBay items is the US Mint commemorative half dollar depicting George Washington Carver and Booker T. Washington.
This 1952-S beauty has been graded by NGC as MS67. NGC has only ever graded 26 this high and they’ve only graded one higher.
